Why does WHS 2011 SetupMon.exe installation fail? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to install WHS 2011 final release version (en_server_install_disc_windows_home_server_2011_x64_dvd_658487.iso) which I downloaded from MSDN.  The install proceeds normally until I get to the setupmon.exe portion that happens once you log in to the installed OS for the first time.  This is the part of the install that is supposed to ask you for the time zone, product key, server name and password, etc.  This part of the configuration is constantly failing.  Now, I had been using the RTM version for months without a problem, so I know that WHS 2011 can run on my rig, so it must be some other problem.  I've re-downloaded the iso from MSDN 3 times, and burned new discs each time, only to receive the same error.  I have the "HSBSLogs.zip" file that the error generates when it fails, though I don't know which of the contents to post here, not whow I might post the whole zip file (2MB) as an attachment here.  I'm glad to forward it to anyone who can assist.  Thanks!
