Is 70-432 a prerequisite to take 70-450? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have signed up for the 70-450 beta.  I just wonder whether I must take 70-432 first before I take 70-450 beta.   I believe the 70-432 beta is over now.

BTW, will there be a beta for 70-451?

  • I don't think you need to pass 70-432 to take the 70-450 beta but you need to have used SQL Server 2008 for many months to pass 70-450 because it will cover what is new like first time interval implementation in SQL Server and many other new features.  I don't know about 70-451 beta but here is the docs for the SQL Server 2008 exams.

  • Thanks Caddre.  I have used SQL Server 2008 on and off for awhile and have tried some of the new features.  I have also attended the upgrade lab and the 3 days training class for new features.   I'm not putting too much hope to pass it this time but at least want to try it to see which area I need to know more.

  • Here is the MSDN what is new SQL Server 2008 it is more detailed than the BOL so install the product make sure it is trial which is Enterprise or the developer edition which is also Enterprise edition.  You may also need to check your local book store for books out that covers the Date and Time it is in the ANSI SQL standard since ANSI SQL 1989 this is the first time Microsoft have implemented it.

Spend time with the product and management studio.

  •  It seems that MS will release some webcast series on SQL Server 2008 on 9/9.
