2007 Office update RRS feed

  • Question

  • We puchased Office Small Business 2007 couple of months ago. At the begining of November we noticed that microsoft has free update for office 2010. We tried to get it but they said it is expired on 31st of Oct. But nobody informed us. We did not get any mail from microsoft or any update notification.

We called microsoft, and they said the seller is responsible to tell us about the update. We called the seller and he said "we don't have any information that we are responsible from that. If you bring us a letter from microsoft, we will ask it to the main distributor"

Than we asked microsoft to give us a letter. And microsoft could not give that.

It is our right to get this update. Could you please let us know what should we do right now.

It's only your right to acquire the upgrade (NOT UPDATE) if you do so using the required procedure during the required period - otherwise, you're SOL, I'm afraid.
Like many offers, this one was time-limited, and like many offers, it required a certain amount of prior knowledge from the purchaser. It would seem that you purchased the Office 2007 after the expiry of the offer anyhow - the date of Oct 31 was the final date on which the upgraded installations could be activated, not the date on which they could be claimed.
