  • There was an incident at Microsoft this weekend affecting many users, causing non-genuine notifications. 

    Restart the computer.  If that does not clear the issue, revalidate Windows at http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/.  If that does not clear the notice, reactivate Windows.  As a last resort contact Microsoft Assisted Support.  (These procedures were suggested by Microsoft.)
