I see ther's a uTorrent made for WHS as addon. But you can also use the ordinary uTorrent.
Which of these two is recommende, and is there any difference at all?Friday, July 18, 2008 6:58 PM

The addon itself does not install uTorrent, rather it makes a uTorrent interface in the WHS Console. It still requires a normal install of uTorrent and configuration of the web options.Friday, July 18, 2008 8:36 PM

I am having trouble finding a uTorrent add-in download for WHS as an MSI-file, I only find exe-files. Are there any MSI-files out there or can I make an installer from the exe-file?

For what it's worth, µTorrent and similar applications are desktop applications, and are not designed for use on Windows Home Server, which is a fairly closed system. While it's possible to install a wide range of apps on WHS, it's really not recommended, and installing anything that requires an installation method other than the (supported) add-in installation method is unsupported. This includes µTorrent.
In addition, various users of µTorrent on Windows Home Server have had a variety of problems. The µTorrent add-in for Windows Home Server alleviates some of the concerns, but it's still a desktop application, and still isn't recommended or supported on WHS.
So if you install it, be careful, and if it causes problems, don't be too surprised.Saturday, July 19, 2008 1:56 AMModerator -

I ended up installing from the desktop. Have had no issues. Just have to go to desktop if I want to add or remove.
