Data Source Type : MSCRMFETCH is missing on SSRS 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I'm CRM Onlune user.

I created RDL using XMLfetch and it worked fine. (Development notebook installed "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Report Authoring Extension")

However, when I post this in my SSRS(Not CRM based),

it says "The data processing extension used for this report is not available. It has either been uninstalled, or it is not configured correctly"

"Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Report Authoring Extension" is installed on SSRS 2008 R2 server as well.

Do I have to install CRM to get this data source type?

What is the alternate way to post this report other than CRM itself?

    Thank you

  • Hi,

If you want to publish your reports into the SSRS then yes you have to install Dynamics CRM 2011 with Reporting Extensions, you can install reporting extensions for CRM On-Premise (Company hosted) versions. Without CRM 2011 installed you can not publish your reports to SSRS.

You may also refer Microsoft Dynamics CRM requirements for SQL Reporting Services: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh386538.aspx

You can publish your reports into CRM online for testing purposes.
