MS CRM 4.0 E Mail Router RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to use E Mail Router for  incoming and outgoing mails for the web client users.
I have installed E mail Router.
While i give "test accesss" For Outgoing SMTP it is coming test success.
and for the incoming exchange server i am getting the result as "Operation Timed Out"

we installed CRM without specifying the incoming email server name.
Instead i ahve added the email router service account manually to the crmprivusergroup in the active directory.

The mails which i am trying to send are returned to ope n status with the message. " Mail delivery failed" . Before failure message  it tries five times to send the mail.

I am not able to figure out where is the problem..
Please help me out at the earliest.

    Regards,
    Soumya.

  • Do you have access to this email server? telnet smtp.mailserver.com 25

check that it allows your servers connection

check that you can send mail

  • What do you enter as the incoming exchange server name?

It needs to be the URL of the Exchange Server and it has to have the outlook web access components installed but don't add OWA to the end of the URL. So, it would be something like http://exchangeserver or https://exchangeserver.

The operation timed out message suggests that the URL is not right or there may be a DNS issue?
