  • Hi Rajender, The 70-519 is a great exam and is very challenging. You are correct that it retires in July of this year.  If you are working with Visual Studio 2010 web applications you should do fine on this exam.

For Visual Studio 2012 Microsoft has released a new set of exams for web application developers.  There are three exams in the MCSD track:

70-480, 70-486 and 70-487.  The 70-486 exam is similar in a lot of ways with the 70-519 exam. It covers MVC applications almost exclusively (70-519 covered web forms and MVC.) Here is a link for more information on these exams: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mcsd-web-apps-certification.aspx

Interestingly, the 70-480 is not a Microsoft centric exam. It covers standard HTML5 and JavaScript.

    Good luck.

  • Hi,

like Mike mentioned the most corresponding exam for 70-519 would be 70-486. These exam will retire, because the new MCSD certifications will "replace" them (they are designed for Visual Studio 2012).

  • There are no prerequisites for taking this exam, but to earn the MCPD Web Developer certification you'll need to pass 70-513, 70-515, and 70-516.
