How to take a reference of WCF svc 4.0 in crm 4.0 Plugin ? RRS feed

  • I wanted to take a WebReference of a WCF SVC 4.0 in CRM 4.0.. but i was getting Error ?

    Also there is no Option to register the plugin outside the Sandbox.. and i think by default in CRM 4.0 Plugin will be registered inside Sandbox..

    mi Righ..?

  • I don't think the concept of Sandboxing really applied in 4.0.  I could be wrong, but that was when I remember it hitting the scene, and that's what allowed us to start using plugins in CRM Online.

  • Jamie's right - CRM 4 had no sandbox. In CRM 4.0 synchronous plugins run in the web application pool, and asynchronous ones run in the CrmAsyncService process.

    Can you calrify, are you setting a Web Reference, or a Service Reference ? If it's a Service Reference, then the default behaviour would be for the code to read configuration information from the app.config file, but you won't have that by default.

    furthermore, the problem with the config file in a WCF Service Reference can be circumvented by generating the binding configuration programmatically, as described here.
