Programs are encountering validation errors

Question
-
I am having errors on many of the programs I have installed on my Windows 7 Pro N 64-bit laptop. I recently wiped the SSD and reinstalled windows to get 64 bit instead of 32 bit W7 (I have an i7 so I assume the architecture is suitable for 64 bit).
An example is when I recently was using Spotify the error message "Spotify encountered a validation error, Process Name: Spotify.exe, Module Name: ntdll.dll, Assert Offset: 0008ACC5" and I am given the option to Ignore Once/Ignore Always/Do not ignore.
There errors occur on a lot of my programs (I haven't installed very many) and explorer.exe a lot. Any idea what is causing them?
Using the Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and under the windows tab there is the following info:

There is no apparent problem with your MGADiag report - what made you think that this may be a WGA/MGA-related problem?
You should probably repost your question in a more appropriate forum -

Reading through other forums I was directed here, and the validation error made me think maybe it was something to do with my overall windows validation. But if it's not that is grand, rules something out.Wednesday, June 12, 2013 10:36 AM
