  •  Dear Azpacer,

Thank you for your interest in the Buy Local program. It appears that you are not eligible because the version of Windows currently installed on your machine was not installed by a system builder, as indicated in your diagnostic report:

    Windows License Type: Retail

Was Vista Home installed on your machine originally? From whom did you purchase your system?

    Thank you,

    Jenifer

  • Yes It originally came with Vista Home when I purchased it from Fry's Electronics. I had to have it upgraded to business for work purposes.

  • Hi Greg,

We will need to see a copy of both the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and the receipt of purchase for the eligible Vista Home software.  Pictures of COAs can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/coa.mspx . That should help you know what to look for.

If you would like to provide the copies of your COA and receipt, please go to https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?c1=509&gprid=9860 and create a Support Incident. Afterward, post the Incident Number here in this thread. We will then contact you directly.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or comments.

    Thank you,

    Jenifer
