On October 26th, Windows update had a critical update for Vista to SP2, which I installed, but it failed and automatically rolled back to the previous version.
However, when I log on, I now receive a screen prompting me to activate windows. When I enter my product key from my license, I receive an error code 0XC00F050 stating my product key is invalid. I accessed KB 950756 to try to resolve this issue; however, I cannot get access to the Start button to get to the Computer System Properties to try the resolution as described in the article. I am only able to access the screen that is prompting me to buy a key or re-enter my key, which I have tried several times.
I ran the WGA tool and this is the output I received:

Hello rhoffy66,
If you click the Buy a New Key option, does a Internet Browser open? (Please do not actually buy a new Key. That is not required to fix this issue)
If clicking the option does open a browser, use it to complete the below steps which will restore Vista's Licensing Store:
1) Open an Internet Browser2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
3) Find the file CMD.exe
4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
9) Type: net start slsvc
10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
11) Reboot Twice
12) You will likely be asked to enter a Product Key and Activate. Use the Key found on the sticker on the side or bottom of the computer.
Thank you,
