Problem with Images in Help Workshop RRS feed

  • Question

  • I’m having problems including images when building with the HTML Help Workshop.

    I want to include a couple of ‘Screen Shots’ to go along with the text.

    I get the ‘Screen Shots’ via a ‘Print Screen Sys Request’, paste into Paint, edit then save as a .BMP

    I then ‘Insert’ this into a Word Document and save as an .HTM

    I then ‘Add’ this .HTM in a Help .HHP and compile the .CHM but when I ‘View’ it some of the Images turn-out OK but other just show the Frame Outline with a ‘Red Cross’ in the top left corner!

    I think this must have something to do with the original size of the ‘Screen Shot’ images because the smaller ones are those that are OK.

    I have tried saving (the larger ones) as 16 Bit BMP’s, JPG’s, PNG’s, etc, etc but no way can I get one of the large ‘Screen Shots’ to display.

    Am I missing something?

    Can you point me in the right direction please?

  • Dear Springfield Data

    NOTE THIS HTML CODE BLOCK from an HTML file from a MHHW project--

    <v:imagedata src="DataEntry_files/image001.jpg" o:title="mtsstampmtsappfolder1"/>

    </v:shape><![endif]--><![if !vml]><img width=32 height=32

    src="DataEntry_files/image001.jpg" v:shapes="_x0000_i1025"><![endif]><!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shape

            id="_x0000_i1026" type="#_x0000_t75" style='width:25.8pt;height:25.8pt'>

    IN MY DEBUGGING EXPERIENCE I FOUND THAT THE SECOND REFERENCE WAS INVARIABLY WRONG!! It would have 'image002' or some such in it!
    JUST PASTE OVER IT WITH THE FIRST REFERENCE WHICH WAS ALWAYS CORRECT IN MY EXPERIENCE.  It's also a cinch to locate all this junk by simply searching on "src="....

    Hope this is not too late.
