Cannot continue reply after marking as answered. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Not sure if this has been brought up before, but if I, during a reply, mark a post (the one I'm replying to) as 'answer', then my reply vanishes (this I could expect), but when I click to reply again, I'm told I'm already in the reply, and I have to close this first. The reply window is nowhere to be seen, hence I can't close it. Maybe I just don't know how to find it again? Thanks in advance.

  • Yep, I always copy my text before I do anything else after a couple of times doing that. It wipes it out. The cancel button is when you hit the reply button and it says when it tells you that you already have a reply box open, I cancel the reply box (since it won't let me put anything in that box, then it closes and I can then reply in the box that's then there (by pasting my copied text I had before I left it). Sometimes though it just goes back to where you first started, I'll just hit reply and it'll work, so it varies. I just got use to it doing that, I'll normally just open up 3 or 4 forum windows in the windows 7 forum along with wordpad

  • Click cancel, it'll reappear and you'll see that you can put your cursor in the reply window.  Also do F5 to refresh the page, I have to do it all the time to see my reply if I look at say the OP's threads and come back to the thread I was in before I detoured.

  • Well, refreshing the page does allow me to enter the reply editor again (though without the text i typed in earlier).

I'm not sure what 'cancel' button you're referring to. I don't get any such choice in this scenario.
