XCOPY wild cards (*.pst) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I want to copy any available *.pst file(s) to a backup drive / pen drive.  I've issued the following command, but after some time it says 0 file(s) copied.

    xcopy C:\*.pst E:\backup /s/v/c

I just want to copy any pst file present in system as per folder structure! Any inputs received would be greatly appreciated.

  • You could try it with robocopy … that might work better ...
    robocopy c:\ E:\backup\ *.pst /S /XJ /R:0 /W:0 /XX /NDL /Z /J

  • Files in user folders are hidden from the command.  YUO will need to add admin account to user folders and run an elevated prompt with almost any utility.
