streets and trips 2011 freeze when GPS can not acquire signal

  I just bought the streets and trips 2011 with GPS. When i start trying the GPS, when i am near the window, GPS acquire signal very fast, and everything works. But when i am in the middle of the building and GPS can not get a signal, it will hang up the whole street and trips, and i can not even kill the process for streets.exe unless i force unplug the gps device.

  Also, if i did not get a signal at first, even i move to place near the window, GPS still can not acquire signal.

  Do i have a defected GPS?
