Tiring of Vista Validation again and again RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Dell Laptop bought with XP PRO.  I Purchased from a valid MS seller Vista Ultimate and installed.  It mostly went well after fetching the correct wireless drivers.  Has worked for 10 months but the last month or so I get a message that I may be a vicitm of counterfit software.  I choose to validate and it does.  I sometimes get on the bottom right of the desktop This copy of windows is not genuine, even after validating.  I reboot and all seems well at least for that session.  At no speciifc interval (at another system start) I get the message again and have to repeat the process.  As a PAYING customer I am rapidly tiring of this.  I have always been a big windows fan/user/promoter/developer/power user, but this is leaving me with a very bad experience.  Despite some of the nice new features, I am already sorry I upgraded to Vista.

As I'm typing this it is activated and all is well but it WILL happen again.  Is there anything I can do to fix this short of a wipe and return to the shipped XP OEM version?
