To start, what version of CRM are you using?
How are you using the FetchXML?
- Custom SSRS Report from scratch?
- CRM Report Wizard?
With this, I would recommend using the OOB CRM Report Wizard.
In the Report Wizard, when you get the the Lay Out Fields:
- Select "Click here to add a column"
- Record Type "Accounts"
- Columns "Region"
Make sure you remove the "Contact Region" column from the lay out
if it is there. This way, you will have a single column that shows the account region for contact's account.
