  • I am new to forum and don't know what category to select.   My problem is an unknown service I fiybd in my laptop, in my list of Services (Local).  The item is named "Orehiuams" and I can't find a thing when I search this word on the internet.  It is set for manual start.  Does anyone know what this is?

  • Hey LaurieConst,

I'm not sure what Orehiuams is, sorry :( it almost seems like its a word spelled backwards...but smauihero isn't anything either.

Normally I'd tell you to start in the "Where is the forum for...?" forum when you post your question, but since this is about Windows, you should go to http://answers.microsoft.com/ and post in the Windows forum.

Since this is off topic here, I'm going to move it to the off topic forum.

I can also suggest you to donwload and run Sysinternals Autoruns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902), to get a complete list of services and programs executed at the system startup: it could provide you with more information about this service.

  • Thanks to both of you for your help - I have downloaded Autoruns and will work on this next chance I get.
