Adobe Patches its reader!! RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Over two weeks since Adobe acknowledged vulnerabilities in its Reader and Acrobat programs -- that could expose Windows XP users to malicious PDF hacks -- the company has now gone and patched these flaws.

The patches are being made available as Version 8.1.1 of both Reader and Acrobat. Earlier, Adobe had posted a work-around requiring users to edit the Windows registry.

Meanwhile, after Mozilla and Skype updated their Firefox browser and Skype VoIP software respectively, Adobe is the next to patch its software against a Windows-wide flaw which Microsoft has admitted to but is yet to fix.
