When i try to create a new lead it is give me error insufficent permissions contact system administrator. I am in crm 2011. I am getting this when i use custom security role. When i am using default role it is working. What should be done to acheive this.

    Regards,

  • Did you create a role from scratch?

If yes, then thats the problem. There are some system privileges that can’t be set when you create a new security role from scratch. The recommendation is to create a copy of the existing role and then make changes to it.

Open the role and action menu choose “copy role”.

    I hope this helps.

  • The user should have permission on all those entities (lead, contact, account, opportunity)  create, read write append , append to etc.

    I hope this helps.

  • No it has nothing to with that.

Can I ask you did you follow the advice in my first blog. Create a copy of existing role and then make changes?

    If not please try that.

  • Hi Kishan, when you get the error there should be a "Download Log" button. If you click on that it will give you engouh information to find out exactly which is the privilege that you are missing. You can paste the log here if you need help. If you don;t see that button you can use CRM server traces to gather the same information.
