Repair install / in-place upgrade install for WHS 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can you do a repair installation of Windows Home Server 2011?

Of course one can reformat-and-reinstall, and you can re-image from a system backup, but I'd like to move from AHCI to RAID, and in the past, the only way I've gotten that to work is to reimage and then do a repair install. However, when I boot from the home server install disk, there is no repair option, and my system is not currently in a bootable state, so I can't run the upgrade from the OS. I would very much like to avoid reformatting, as the process of setting up users, remote access, and CloudBerry all over again (I would have to back up all 300GB of my user data, probably!) would be highly upsetting.

Thanks in advance for a definitive answer one way or the other.
