  • This can happen sometimes, if the WGA system attempts to reach the server and fails, because of a firewall, or proxy, or because the server is overloaded.

    Try going to thee Validation site - http://www.microsoft.com/genuine  and attempting to Validate Windows - if you get an error message, post the EXACT details in your response.

    If you get no error message, reboot, and see if the notification is gone.

    What Anti-Virus are you using? - is it MSE, and it's MSE that's reporting the problem, rather than WGA?
