Importing 2006 Mappoint to 2013

  I have been using 2006 since it was new, I just purchased Mappoint 2013, it will not recognize the files. Is there a work around to export and than import? I don't want to have to purchase a 2009, 2010 or 11 version just to upgrade my map program.

  Any ideas?
