Determinaing Total Size Of Files? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to determine the total size of all my files within the WHS pool - NOT including copies from having Duplication=On?

I suppose I could set Duplication=Off for all shares, wait a day, and then wing it from Disk Manangement's percentages... but it seems like there sb a more direct/precise way.

The agenda is to determine how much NAS-like storage I will need to make a complete backup of my data - before the backup - and sanity-checking total sizes after the backup.

  • Consult the pie chart. It tells you how large your shares are.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

Also, experimenting with a second server, I now see that the "Shared Folders" window gives sizes not including duplicates - which is what I was looking for.

My way is easier. You want a total, you get a total...
