How do I Exclude multiple file types say Word 07 AND Excel 07 from being synced in the same pair? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two computers, one has Office 07 the other has 03. Not much sense in copying the 07 files files to the computer with 03. Can I use some kind of a wild card to exclude the 07 files from syncing? I was thinking about using *.???x but not sure the question marks are valid. Would that work? Or could I use a separator like a comma or semi colon like this...

    *.xlsx,*.docx  or  *.xlsx;*.docx  where the first exclusion is separated from the second by either a comma or semi colon?

    Thanks in advance - I really love this program!

  • Hi,

    you should be able to exclude multiple extension by concatenating them with a ;

    An example would be: *.jpg;*.bmp

    I hope this helps,

  • Cool, I was hoping it would be that simple

    I would have just tried it, but the other computer belongs to my associate who has left for the day...

    Thanks!!

  • Where do you put these exclusions?  I've created a test profile with the left and right drives but can't find anywhere to tell the tool where to exclude certain files.  Also, is there any way you can tell it to automatically exclude system files, temp files and so on?

    Thanks in advance for any responses.

  • You have to open the folder pair and then click on the "Change options" link. That's then where you can specify the filters. You can also exclude hidden, system and/or read-only files.

    I hope this helps,
