Unable to get property 'Initialize' of undefined or null reference on contact form RRS feed

  • Hi Everyone,

    I have an on-premise CRM instance which is recently upgraded from 2011 to 2016 in multiple steps. When I open a contact form in the outlook client, I receive the following error:

    Unable to get property 'Initialize' of undefined or null reference.

    The machine has Office 2010 and IE11 installed. It works without problem from browser. I debugged the error, and found out that the following call is failing during form load: Mscrm.BusinessRulesScript.Initialize(). I do not have any business rules on the form. Is it a known issue? If yes, how can I fix it?

  • Turned out we need to add read privilege to processes for every role, otherwise the user is unable to retrieve the business rules for the page and gets an error even if there are none.
