  • Hello itwbaah,

As Carey posted, right now your computer has a nongenuine installation of XP Pro on it.

Does the computer have a Windows Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) affixed to the computer?  If so, post back and let us know what version and edition of Windows is described on the CoA.  Also let is know if the second line of the CoA reads "OEM Product" or "OEM Software," or if it has the name of the computer manufacturer printed on the second line.

DO NOT post the Product Key that may be printed on the CoA.

Your computer also has a problem with the installed Microsoft Office.  Here is the Office portion of the mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage - 114 Blocked VLK 2

    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
    Signed By: Microsoft
    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

The report is telling us that you have a nongenuine installation of a Volume Licensing-only edition of Office XP Pro with Front Page.  Your installation was done with a now-blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK).

Volume Licensing editions of Office such as your installation of Office XP Pro with Front Page are not to be sold to individual consumers, and are only to be sold to larger businesses, educational institutions, and governmental agencies who need flexibility in installing and deploying many copies of Office.

These Volume Licenses should not be sold to consumers because they are not permanent licenses; they are subject to a current Volume Licensing Agreement that has a finite term, sort of like a lease.  Consumers thinking they purchased permanently licensd software would understandably be upset when their software stopped working at the end of a lease.

If you purchased Office XP Pro with Front Page thinking you were buying genuine retail Office Professional for consumers with a permanent license, please return the software to the place of purchase for replacement or a full refund.

You can also review the Office Genuine Advantage FAQ to see if you qualify for the discounted or complimentary replacement program called the Office Genuine Offer:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en&sGuid=4ba10af9-ffaa-4cb9-9af4-6aff8a220262#ID0EKNAC

  • From your MGA report:

Unfortunately, your installed copy of Windows XP Professional is non-genuine.  It is a Volume License copy whose product key has been reported to Microsoft as lost, stolen or misused.  Please visit Microsoft Genuine Advantage and click on Validate Windows.  When validation fails, click on the Get Genuine button to learn how to acquire a WGA Kit.

  • Hello itwbaah,

The most recent mgadiag report is showing that you have uninstalled the nongenuine installation of Office XP Professional with Front Page.  Thank you for doing so.

If you purchased Office XP Pro with Front Page from a seller or store, please return the product to them and demand a refund, as you were sold nongenuine software.

Don't forget that depending upon your circumstances, you may qualify for a free or discounted copy of office directly from Microsoft.  Please view the FAQ for more information:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en&sGuid=4ba10af9-ffaa-4cb9-9af4-6aff8a220262#ID0EKNAC

Regarding your installation of Windows XP Pro, please provide the information regarding whether the computer has a CoA.

Did the computer come with any sort of discs or package with Windows discs in it?  Does the package have a Certificate of Authenticity for Windows on it?  Does the computer have a Windows Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) affixed to the computer?  If so, post back and let us know what version and edition of Windows is described on the CoA.  Also let is know if the second line of the CoA reads "OEM Product" or "OEM Software," or if it has the name of the computer manufacturer printed on the second line.

DO NOT post the Product Key that may be printed on the CoA.

    Thank You! :-)
