  • Question

  • I had a good copy of windows ME bought with the computer.  A friend gave me a copy of XP and it was not legitimate. Now what do I do to get rid of it?

  • Hi jasbo,

If you erased the original operating system by installing a different one, there is only one way to fix it. You need to contact the computer manufacturer to get a set of backup CD's for your original OS.

  • You start by asking somewhere else (and making it clear what you are asking - if someone gave you a illegitimate copy just throw it away, if you installed it on top of your legal ME that's a different question) as this is the forum for suggestions for the *forum software*.

Ask here where to post to.
