Unfortunately, the "third-party" used a counterfeit Windows 7 Professional OEM SLP disc for installation. This will never activate. All you can do now is purchase a genuine edition of Windows and perform a "clean install".

Did your HP 255 G2 Notebook originally come preinstalled with Windows 7 Professional? If not, where did you obtain your copy of Windows 7 Professional from?

Hi Carey, it came with windows 8 and a third party company installed w7 onto it. I used magical jellybean to get the activation code from the machine before having windows re-installed. Any help on this would be fantastic. Thanks.Tuesday, December 13, 2016 9:50 AM
