Question

Good day & I would like to Apologize as I have posted before on this topic but I would like ask the question differently.
I would like to become a Business Intellegence & Data Warehouse Analyst/Expert/Developer/Architect.
Now I completed exams Sql 2005 BI Application Developer & 2008 BI Develop & Maintenance (70-448)
Currently working with SQL2000,2005,2008 (SSIS,SSRS,SSAS) & Cognos at work.
I would like to know what is in demand (i should grow in) in the market world in Business Intellegence & Data Warehousing.
Which Exam would best suite me to make me marketable and obtaining my goal of specializing in (Business Intellegence & DataWarehouse Analyst/Expert/Developer/Architect)
Once again, Apologies if i'm not clear, please assist & direct me as i was looking in taking exam (70-452) but unsure as that is a PRO certificate to the 2008 BI Develop & Maintenance (70-448) i already have.
I'm not sure, it might be the correct one but I want to widen by knowledge & certification cover, perhaps doing another exam that covers all instead of a PRO in one aspect of SQL2008 BI & Data Warehousing
Please help, Thank you in advance

Hi Ismailc,
Yes 70-452 is the next step when you passed 70-448.
With both 70-448 and 70-452 you will get MCITP BI 2008, with just 70-448 you are MCTS 2008.
I passed both exams for SQL Server 2005/2008 so I am MCITP-BI 2005/2008, MCTS-BI 2005/2008.
I would suggest you try 70-452 next. I would also suggest you to focus with one vendor for now as there are just too many things one needs to learn. I did have prior deep exposure to the IBM world (e.g. Cognos/DB2/WebSphere, etc...).
As for me currently I am learning SP 2010, and possibly taking some SP 2010 exams if I get a chance.
Hope this helps!

Hi, Thank You very much in assuring me on 70-452
SP 2010 (Sharepoint 2010),
does sharepoint also have a role to play in BI being (Dashboarding) ?
and is there a demand, job market for SP 2010?

Yeah SP 2010 plays an important role in MS BI stack, below are the links:
http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/en-us/product/capabilities/insights/Pages/default.aspx
PPS, PowerPivot, KPIs, Dashboards, Chart Web Parts, Excel Services, etc...
All the above mentioned are basically what I am working on right now (also workflow, BCS, Infopath).
The demand for both MS BI (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) OR sharepoint 2010 are very high as far as I know.
Hope this helps!

I also need to make a disclaimer that I am based on Redmond, WA. The demand for both MS BI (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) OR sharepoint 2010 are very strong locally.
As far as I know the demand is also strong else where in general.
The link below is Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Horizontal Portals that you might find useful:

Hope this helps!
