Why Clipboard.GetDataObject() is always NULL after using CopyPicture funtion of Excel Range in Web application ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

In Windows Application, I can use CopyPicture funtion of Excel Range to copy a picture into ClipBoard. It works fine with Clipboard.GetDataObject() checking to save this image on hard disk.

But in Web application, Clipboard.GetDataObject() is always NULL.

I don't know the difference in using this function between Web and Win apps.

Could you pls tell me why ?

And how can I Copy a range in an Excel sheet, after that saving this data as a picture on hard disk of Web Server ?

    Thanks so much.

  • Hi thedarknight,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

As far as I know, this method is invalid in Asp.net. You can try javascript method: window.clipboardData.getData("Text").

In addition, You can consider posting it at the following more appropriate forum for more efficient responses. Thanks!
