Thank you for visiting the Live OneCare program forum. I am curious as to this error you are getting. What was your customer scenario revolving around 0044-80072311? Were there any other error or dialog messages you recieved?

  • As far as I can determine this specific error is undocumented, but for the 0044 class of installation errors the general recommendation is uninstalling OneCare, running this cleanup tool, and then reinstalling: http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2

If the problem persists, then the next step would be to contact OneCare Support: http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2

Thank you for visiting the OneCare Program Forums.

Please provide some information about your OneCare installation for this issue:

    a.       OneCare Support data. Steps below

                                                                   i.      Open Windows Explorer and locate the following folder if Windows is installed on the C drive:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows OneCare Live\

ii.      Double click the file named OneCareSupport or OneCareSupport.exe. (Right click and “Run as Administrator” in case of VISTA).  It will begin to collect the information.

iii.      When it finishes collecting the information, note the path shown and name of the information file. (Generally, it is C:\OneCareSupportData.zip)

                                                               iv.      Send the OneCareSupportData.zip

Send the zip file to oc-forums@live.com

    Thank you,
