    Hi All

In order to sync two sql 2008 express databases , Do I have to create all the triggers that appear in the sample?

  • There are many advantages of using the SQL Server change tracking feature.

However there are a few gotchas right now with using the change tracking in conjunction with the DBpeerprovider.

If you are interested in understanding the change tracking advantages per se, you can refer to the Books Online.

In the context of sync, change tracking provides you with easier ways of tracking the changes and avoiding the triggers.

  • the performance of the change tracking feature is better than the trigger approach too. Although it will not speed up your sync, you regular DML operations will be faster.

    Thanks,

Yes. I assume that you mean the DbSyncProvider. DbSyncProvider does not distinguish SQL 2008 express from other SQL 2008 editions.
