The SQL Server {...} is unavailable when importing CRM organization RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to import a organization in CRM 2011 but it fails with the message The SQL Server {sqlserver_name} is unavailable

It doesn't complain about SQL Server Reporting.

Firewall in both VM's (CRM and SQL) are disabled.

All SQL services are running, and also File and Printer Sharing, and some solutions in this forum explains.

The DB has been created and restored with a CRM backup.

This is a part of the Deployment Manager log:

    09:10:10|   Info| Check LanguageProvisioningRequiredValidator: Success
    09:10:10|   Info| Group Microsoft SQL Server™
09:10:10|  Error| Check CrmSqlDomainValidator : Failure: The SQL Server 'AUX-SRV-SQL-01' is unavailable.
09:10:10|   Info| Group Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
    09:10:10|   Info| Check ReportingUrlValidator: Success

What can I do to solve this?

  • Strangely I have suddenly started getting this error today. I noticed it on importing an org but realised I couldn't create a new org either. I am on rollup 15. Enabled tracing but nothing useful in it either. Sorry i'm not answering your question!
