Need Help with Sql Server 2005 Management Studio--Newbie RRS feed

    I just recently purchased a sony laptop with Vista business.  It seem like it came with 2005 Sql Server.  I could not locate the Management Studio shortcut (only the Config file was available on the Start Men), so i went to the MS site and downloaded the most recent Sql Server Express Edition with Advance Services.  The instatllation went well however I still do not have the Mangement Studio selection.  The Start Menu still has on the Config file.  How do I fix this?   Any help is appreciated!!  I have read through many forums but no luck in solution.  Please provide detail explanations as I am fairly new at this.  Thanks in advance

    SQL Server comes in Different editons and Express is one among them

    Management studio is part of the Tools which does not come along with Express.

     

    As you specified that you have Vista as your OS.   I would recommend you to use Developer edition to persue the required option.
