Hosts file being used in another process

    Question

  • Trying to change some of the code in the hosts file however, it can't save, as it says " file being used in another process." How do I fix this?

Also I don't know what part of the forums this should go.

  • Hi NotSure,

You have not provided any details on how you get to this message/state so I am going to send you on a small search.

My suspicion is you want to ask your question on Answers.Microsoft.com but understanding more about what OS, Device and steps you are taking to see this issue would be required for better routing.

For now, I am moving this to the "Where is the Forum For" forum in hopes that this can be re-routed once you provide more detail or you can mark this as the answer if you find the details you need in the search I provided.

    Sincerely,
