Windows Fix It won't work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've recently performed a system update due to an issue with a Trojan virus that was found on my computer. The virus caused my computer to notify me of multiple errors and problems. A windows eventually popped up with small squares that were either blue (directory sectors), green (verified sector),or red (danger sectors); and the computer initiated to try and fix this. I restarted as my computer prompted and found that I was not able to find anything on my hard drive although the gigabytes of memory were still present. I performed a System Restore to fix this error. The System Restore was successful; however, when I started to use my laptop again I received multiple notification errors such as error 1067, 'GFXui has stopped working,' 'Printer Card Transfer Monitor has stopped working,' and 'HP Wireless Assistant has stopped working.' When I tried to troubleshoot these using Windows 7 by going to Control Panel, System Security, Find and Fix problems, my troubleshoot wizard would not work with error 0x80070002. Then the Windows Update features would also not work with error code 80070005. I have been searching for solutions, and I tried to use Microsoft's Fix Its/MATS but I receive error windows automated troubleshooting services bootstrapp has stopped working. I am really stuck as to what I should do. My McAfee Virus Protection Service cannot find errors when I scan. I wish to know what I can do to fix my computer.

    Computer Details:

    HP Pavilion dv6-3216us

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
