New Streets and Trips (for bicycling) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Still using the 2004 Streets and Trips due to the ROUTE - more Options are
better for slow speed and less distance used in bicycling. Have looked at
    the
2005, 2006, and 2007 versions but they were all deficient in that area as
    compared to 2004.

However there are some errors in 2004 maps which might have been updated
    in the 6+ years since.

Does the current version offer any 2004 or similar type Route Options which
    might be good for bicyclists?

  • Hi Rob,

If you are refering to the old style speed adjustment, then no, that feature has not been present in Streets & Trips since your version 2004.

  • It isn't a solution for Streeets & Trips as it lacks an API, but MapPoint has the same problem. Paul Larson wrote a free addin which lets you enter numbers for speeds instead of using the sliders. We have it as a free download, here:

So using MapPoint is one option - even though it does cost more.
