This copy of Windows is not genuine blue screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had to restore a system image to a new hard drive because of a sudden hard drive failure, now 3 days later I get to the log in screen just fine but after logging in it says preparing desktop for 3 or 4 minutes then just goes to a blue screen completely blank except for in the lower right hand corner it says:

                                            Windows 7

                                             Build 7601

This copy of Windows is not genuine

there is nothing and I can do nothing! What happened? Why was it fine for 3 days? How do I fix it??

  • If you leave it for a while, the full system may load - it's probably having a hard time reconciling the new hard drive. What program did you use to create the image?

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode?

No - I do not work for Microsoft, or any of its contractors.
