  • Question

  • Hello, I am working my way through the book, and in CH. 15 on AD CS install, Lesson 1, Excercise 2 I am hitting a snag.

All systems are in Virutal PC running on my Win7Prem laptop.  My SERVER01 is WinServer2K8Standard, AD DS is up & running.  The SERVER03 (mine is ASRV05) is WinServer2K8Enterprise, from setup per Excercise 1, and is up & running as well as having Root CA installed on Standalone. SERVER04 (ASRV06) is WinServer2K8Enterprise, up and running, .  Both ASRV05/06 are member servers, registered in domain.

When I try to install AD CS on ASRV06, I have CA checked and check Online Responder in Role Services.  (I accepted adding Required Role services for IIS.)  When I goto Next Page, Setup Type, the book says to select Enterprise, but only Standalone is available and already selected.

Can anyone tell me what I missed doing?  I don't see this page in the corrections/amendments link.  T

    Thanks

  • 1. answer was later in the chapter, and you were right, not using domain admin login, just local admin. Thanks!

    2.  Sorry on wrong forum, just figured this was in the book so it should be in this section as others might bump into it, and need the same help.

    Thanks again
