Port forward in WHS 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Just upgraded from WHS 2000 to WHS 2011.  I installed MS Webmatrix and created a Drupal website with port 32189.  I had forward this port on my router, but can't seem to access this site either within my home network or from the web.  Can access it from WHS machine, but not from my laptop or other computer.

Can someone tell help to fix this wee issue

    Thanks

  • Hi

Just put up my own WHS, fresh install.

After installation, I went ahead configuring WHS 2011, all went well until I got same problem as you.

I followed some links to get the manual configuration to my ruter:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/922.windows-home-server-router-setup.aspx

Have in mind that you have to pick right WAN interface for your NAT (port forward) rule in my case its VDSL.

Got my server online (accessible of cite) but it still complains about UPnP.

After more reading looking for solutions to get this message to go away, I connected to my ruter, Changed UPnP to disable, saved settings and then back to enable, use WHS repair option (again)

Then some Windows magic, it works message is gone all ok for now ;-)

Don’t know if it helps but for now this worked for me

    Børge
