How to build multiple type of entities? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is that possible to build multiple types of entities for single entity? Such as build different types of Order form ----- examples, computer order, grocery order, office supply order, etc.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

    Follow the steps below:

    1. Add an order type field int the Order entity (by default it is not present, you can create form Settings-> Customization->Cusotmizations->Customze the System->Entities-> Sale Order->Fields click on New button and add new field Order Type (OptionSet  field) )

    2. If required create different order fields specific to order types

    3. If fields are different for each order form then you can create new forms for each order type (Settings-> Customization-> Customization->Customze the System->Entities->Sale Order->Forms click on New button) i.e. Computer Order, Grocery Order and

    4. Users can select the different form from the Form select or even you can write a JScript that will execute eon Order Type OptionSet and change the form accordingly.

The above solution is valid for CRM 2011.
