On drive removal/failure WHS should tell which files will be lost RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just had a drive fail yesterday.  I had all folders duplicated except my music folder (because I also store music on a 2nd pc.)  When the drive failed, I told WHS to remove it.  After some analysis, WHS told me that some files would be lost.  The suggestion I have is to tell me which files I'm losing.  It obvously knows, but doesn't give me the option of seeing the list.

By the way, the team did a great job making WHS easy to use.  I believe that WHS will fill a large niche in the future.  I look forward to the release of the Power Pak.

  • Brent, you should make this suggestion (and I think it's a good one) on the Connect site. It's where Microsoft is collecting product suggestions for version 2 of Windows Home Server.
