Error Code 80070426-Need Help

Question
-
Ok, I too am receiving this dreaded error code. I know that this is a genuine copy of Windows Vista Home Premium as I picked it up at a Microsoft Useability Study in Redmond from Microsoft. I've uninstalled the only program that could cause this error (Freedom Force) as that is the only program I've installed that is old. This problem started up after I decided I didn't want Comcast for my internet provider and disconnected the modem. Now I can't access anything important and I cannot update Windows. I am also experiencing problems with the Windows Media Sharing service shutting down and I believe it is related since both problems started at the same time. Please help as I am beyond my time for free tech support and cannot afford to lose all of the information on my computer. I would go back to a restore point but even that is blocked from me.
HELP PLEASE!!

Hello
In your Diagnostic Report it shows the error code "Online Validation Code: 0x80070426". This means that the Software Licensing Service has stopped. Vista uses this service to check itself and confirm it is Genuine. When the servise is stopped, Vista is unable to confirm it's own Genuine status and assumes something (or someone) has tampered the Software Licensing Service and flags itself as Non-Genuine.
Below are the Manual steps to Force Start the Service.
Once you type the net start slsvc command and hit Enter, if you receive any error, then, for some reason, Vista is not processing the command correctly and the issue is larger then just a Software Licensing problem. In which case, I would suggest contacting Vista core support at http://support.microsoft.com
If you have acces to the Start button:
1) Click the Start button
2) Type: cmd in the Start Search field
3) At the top the Start window, you will see cmd.exe
4) Right Click cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
5) Type: net start slsvc
If you do not have access to the Start button:
1) Click the option Access computer with reduced functionality
2) A Browser will open, type: %windir%\system32 into the address field
3) Find the file cmd.exe
4) Right Click on the cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
5) Type: net start slsvc
Thank you,

Ok, I tried to manually restart the licensing service but I am gettting a System error 5 access denied message. I tried searching for that but can't find any information relating to Windows Vista on the support pages. If anyone knows what that error message is I'd like some information.
Thanks
<UPDATE>
I found a couple of ways to fix this problem but they cannot be done while windows vista is in limited functionality mode.
Any other Ideas?
