Live Mesh will not start RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have just discovered the Live Mesh program, this seems to be an excellent solution for me as I am trying to get around six people involved with a genealogy project from all parts of the globe.

So before I commit myself to this project I am testing Mesh out within my home computers, I have one running Windows 7 public beta x86, one running Vista x86 and one running WinXP SP3, unfortinately every computer I tried will not work, all I get after install is "Live Mesh is currently starting" in a message box to the lower right of the screen, after a while another messagebox appears with "Failed to startLive Mesh, click here to restart" this happens on all computers, but the computers just will not start Mesh.

Am I missing something here or is there a problem with the program.

    Thanks for reading

  • Well I am looking a bit red around the cheeks now with embarrassment, just turned on all three computers this morning and all popped up a message box allowing me to sign in with my account details.

    So all is well.

    Thanks

  • Hi succuba,

We are glad you've chosen to give Live Mesh a look for your project - and equally disappointed that you've hit this issue on all three of your computers.  As a matter of fact, we have a number of different issues that manifest as failures to start.  In order to determine which issue(s) you've hit, we will need to take a look at your Live Mesh logs.  If you wouldn't mind, please go ahead and submit a bug through Connect (instructions are in an Announcement at the top of the forums) with logs from each of your three computers.  After you submit the bug, please post your Connect Feedback ID here and I will track the bug and follow up with you once we know more.

    Thank you,

    Ben.

    Hi succuba,

You shouldn't feel embarrassed at all!  I think you just experienced some very good fortune (having the problem go away on all three computers so quickly).  If any one of them starts to exhibit the behavior again, please go ahead and submit a bug with logs as I mentioned above, and then post here with the Connect Feedback ID so I can follow up on it for you.

    Happy meshing!

    Ben.
