Certificate Services RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm running WHS 8.  Server has been up and running for months with no problem when suddenly I could not access it remotely.  I have made no hardware changes during this time and router is set up correctly.  My certificate services had stopped running and I could  not restart them.  I removed the services through Add/Remove Programs and tried to reinstall.  I'm now being asked for the Windows 2k3 cd which I don't have.  How do I go about reinstalling the service with no cd ?!?

  • The Windows Server 2003 installation is part of the Windows Home Server installation media. You should be able to browse your installation CD.

However, if you can't reconfigure everything, you may need to use your installation media to perform a server recovery, which will refresh the OS on the system partition.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
