Tanjay, signing in and domain name resolution RRS feed

  • Question

  • Customer has a fully functional OCS Voice implementation and I just plugged in a Tanjay phone to demonstrate it to them. (This is not a firmware update issue.) Namespaces corp.contoso.dom for AD user domain and contoso.dom for the empty root. The sip and mail domains are @contoso.com. Internally, DNS hosts contoso.com and points directly to the OCS front end; it doesn't take the user outside and back in through the edge server.

When we try to sign in with either user@contoso.com or corp\user in the domain box, we get the error saying "Certificate could not be downloaded because domain is not available. However if we use corp.contoso.dom\user in the domain box, the Tanjay is able to find a location to download the root cert from.

Is there a specific WINS or DNS SRV record that's required to make either of the first two methods find the DC or CA in the domain properly?

    Thanks,

    Keith (MSFT)
