Mappoint Optimized route export information RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am using Microsoft Mappoint trial version application to import the route files and try to export it in excel after doing the route optimization.

    I have two questions:

    1. I am not able to export the file into excel format. It is exporting in .GPX format only. Can you please help me out how to export the file in .xls format after doing route optimization.

    2. after exporting to .GPX format all the columns of the imported files are not coming. It is exporting with longitude, latitude, name and date/time format only. but in my imported file many other columns like adress1,address2,city, state, zip code is available. Please help me out how i can export the file with all the available columns after route optimization.

  • I'm not sure what form you want your route, but our MPRouteWriter product *might* be what you are looking for. This writes the route waypoints out to Excel, one waypoint per row. The clever bit is that it matches the waypoints to pushpins (often a user creates waypoints from pushpins), and writes the pushpin information out as well. This might be useful information such as customer details, contact info, sales, etc. MPRouteWriter does not write the route directions out. There's a free 14 day trial (yes it should work with the MapPoint trial). See http://www.routewriter.com for details

  • Hi Richard,

Thanks a lot for the response. But i would like to know how we can export the files into excel after route optimization. Before route optimization "Export to Excel " format is enabled but just after route optimization it is disabling.

  • You should try RouteWriter as he recommended as it will write out the stops after optimization.

Otherwise it is possible to do an Excel macro which does want you want without many lines of code, there are lots of Excel VBA examples in the MapForums Downloads section ($99) --

There are also some tutorials in the newsletters --
