MCPD upgrade 2.0 to 4.0

Question
-
currently hold two certificates:
MCTS - Net Framework 2.0, Web Applications (exams 528 & 536)
MCPD - Web Developer (exam 547)
I am now using .Net 4.0 and would like to upgrade them.
MCPD builds on MCTS. You must first have the MCTS certification and then take one more test. For the upgrade, do I have to upgrade MCTS and then MCPD? I only see upgrade options for MCPD.
For the MCPD:
Do I have to first upgrade to 3.5 (70-567) and then to 4.0 (70-523).

You have 2 options.
You can start from scratch again or you can do 2 upgrades.
So for the upgrades you would need to do 2 exams 70-567 and the 3.5 to 4 upgrade exam which I cant remember off the top of my head.
Otherwise its a start again and thats 4 exams (ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WCF and the Pro exam)
The reason for no MCTS upgrades is that they are only 1 exam so the upgrade doesnt make sense

Does the upgrade test only include question over new material? By that, I mean will the upgrade from 2.0 to 3.5 only include new features in 3.5 that were not in 2.0?

The upgrade contains just a subset of the questions usually used on the individual exams. So expect to get about 30 or so questions from each of the component exams.

Will the question be new material from .Net 3.5? Or can I expect material I have already been tested on it 2.0?
How should I study for it? I would like a study guide that just includes the new features - if that is what is being tested.

You can expect some repetition. As I have said, you will get questions that are part of the normal exams
For example 70-567 is the upgrade from MCPD 2.0 to MCPD 3.5. To do this normally you would take exams 70-536, 70-561, 70-564. SInce you already have 70-536, you will be tested on the material in 70-562 and 70-564
There will be a small amount of repetition mainly in the stuff like the web.config but mostly the exam will cover new controls added in 3.5 such as the ScriptManager, AJAX, some WCF, and some LINQ. You wont find a study guide for this exam as its a combination of other exams so you can use the books for these and run through them

How long do you think the 2.0 to 3.5 upgrade (567) will be offered?
I assume at somepoint they will stop offering this test.

Hi,
I'm exactly in the same case that the author of this thread was three years ago, except that the upgrade from 2.0 to 3.5 doesn't exist anymore.
What advices can you give me to upgrade my mcpd to the current equivalent certification?
Thanks in advance for your answer
